We were very pleased to meet with fashion blogger Wafaa who is the editor for the “Fashion Footprintblog page and we thank her for making time for our new segment in Wetrendstyle’s “Blogger Interview”

Wafaa is an ex fashion model who has previously worked with well known designers from the fashion industry. Currently working for Emirates airlines, her unstable working hours made it hard for her to continue full time in modeling. However, like the saying goes “where there is a will there is a way,” Wafaa decided to channel her love for fashion on the pages of her blog.

In person Wafaa posses a very sweet personality, standing high and tall on her red heels she approached our table with grace. At the end of our session we can conclude that this stylish lady holds within her a vast knowledge of fashion and personal styling which she gathered from her past career and world tour.

Wetrendstyle: Do you consider your style as Trendsetter, Posh or Urban?

Wafaa: I think my style is more personal because I like to try everything. I am definitely not a trendsetter because I don’t follow every trend. I personally believe that trend is something you follow from your heart and add your own personal touch to it.  Also, it depends on my mood and where I will venture out for the evening. I try not to overdress or under dress myself, always making sure that it is tasteful and socially acceptable.

Wetrendstyle : Who is your style icon?

Wafaa: I would say first its my Aunt, who is a lingerie designer and she taught me how to color coordinate in style. Colors can be tricky and sometimes we don’t pay attention and overlook the importance of getting the right mixture. My second style icon is “Olivia Palermo” I simply love her style.

Wetrendstyle: Which famous celebrity would you like to style and why?

Wafaa: It would be Angelina Jolie because she is so beautiful and so simple in her style. She does not follow all the trends and keeps herself very loyal to her plain but elegantly simple style.

Wetrendstyle: If you could travel back in time, which famous public figure would you style and why?

Wafaa: Audrey Hepburn, she is a classic beauty, elegant and beautiful and this is how every women should be. I would love to live in that era.

Wetrendstyle: At what age did you start styling yourself?

Wafaa: I started styling during my modeling days, I learned how designers take serious preparations in putting different pieces of clothes together and paying a lot of attention to textures and colors of the garments used. A lot of my styling has also been influenced from the vast world of the internet and fashion magazines where I picked up a lot of ideas and customized it to my own personal style.

Wetrendstyle: Which country do you think has the best style?

Wafaa: “Korea” because I noticed that Korean women take great care of themselves. Even if they are stepping out their house to walk few blocks they make sure that they put a little effort in dressing and fixing the hair. They really know how to dress up and create their own style which is has now become popular and mainstream.

Wetrendstyle: How do you compare Dubai’s style with Western style?

Wafaa: (She breaks down in a laughter) I am not the right person to answer that because I feel I am still on the road to learning. In my personal opinion I feel that Dubai has a lot of obstacles in terms of culture, tradition and beliefs that limits the freedom to go as far as the western style. I mean we have great styles here but not to the level of the western culture. Anyways, we should not forget that our Lebanese fashion designers are making quiet the mark in the western frontier.

Wetrendstyle: Who is your favorite blogger?

Wafaa: Nadya fromThe Fierce Diaries” and “Atlantic Pacific from the U.S

Hi, since you clicked on this page then I guess I have to write something. My name is Wafaa, I’m half Egyptian half Lebanese and I’m currently living in UAE, Dubai. I was born in Lebanon but grow up in Cairo, the pharaoh’s city which taught me how to deal with challenges and untamed conditions, and the most important lesson I ever learned is to stick to your dreams no matter how many people throw obstacles in your way. I worked in different fields like Customer Service, Modeling, Office Management and Aviation until I discovered that fashion is my walking dream, so I decided to create this blog on April 2014 to represents my personal style, travels and things I love to do. Hope you’ll find some inspiration from this blog. The name “Fashion Footprint” was chosen from a list of many names that I wrote on a piece of paper, and my lovely colleague Sharon Kibaara suggested to add “foot” to the name Fashion print, then it became “Fashion Footprint”. A special thanks to Sharon. Life is a blank painting; try to color it with colors of love.
